Is It Still Made? Console Production Status Database
Manufacturers rarely say goodbye. Some consoles get a formal discontinuation notice; most simply vanish from production lines while the company says nothing. This database tracks the production status of every console in the library — over 220 systems — with the date manufacturing ended, whether the maker ever announced it, lifetime sales, and what the launch price works out to in today’s dollars.

How this database is maintained
Release and discontinuation dates are compiled from manufacturer announcements and public records, cross-checked against Wikipedia's per-console documentation (CC BY-SA). Many consoles were never formally discontinued — Sony, for example, never announced an end of PlayStation 4 production — so those systems are marked "Production ended (no official announcement)" with a note on what is actually known. Launch prices are converted to 2026 dollars using U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI-U annual averages. The table is re-verified quarterly; the date at the top of the page reflects the last full check.
